Maryan Maza

Maryan holds a degree in hispanic philology from the University of Havana. Her professional interests are mostly involve the study of language, both in its origin and evolution.

Grace Toner

Grace is a recent graduate in english literature from Bryn Mawr College. Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, Grace has always been an inspired and devoted writer on topics of interest such as current events, pop culture, and Victorian literature. As a public health minor, she has had the opportunity to travel to Brazil, India, and South Africa in search of health care solutions that protect the most vulnerable populations in a society, an objective that the American health care system fails to deliver on. When asked to join the Open as an editor, Grace jumped at the opportunity to be apart of such a progressive and unifying organization. She hopes to work internationally in the future and have more chances such as this to be a part of progressive change in publications and communities around her.

Cassie Mcgrath

Cassie currently works as a reporter at MassLive. She has a passion for human rights, and believes in the power of words to make real change. She is excited to work at a publication which will uplift voices from around the world.

Deana Rita

Deana is a recent graduate in special education from Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts. She is currently working as a teacher of young children with Autism. She is passionate about working with children of all abilities and providing them with the support they need in order to thrive. She believes that children are the key to a more positive future built on equality and peace.

Camila A. Laiton Trespalacios

Camila is Columbian, and is living and studying in Cuba as a fourth year sociology student at the University of Havana. She has a vision of the world based in democracy, equality, and social justice as the principles of society. Her professional goals are conducting research and and working in community social work to achieve equity and overcome social inequality. Her hobbies are reading and writing, and she is interested in the study of social change through history. She also likes to stay informed on current world news, and is passionate about analyzing contemporary social issues in order to explain social changes around the world.
